DOULA FOR THE NEWBORN PARENT

What Do You Typically Do In A Postpartum Visit?
I like to think of my work as a buffet! There are many services and it all depends on how the parent is feeling on that day. Each and every visit is tailored to their needs in that moment. I find this degree of flexibility means I can be responsive and support parents to the best of my ability. I do not do house work nor babysitting but I am there to treat the birthing parent with bodywork, vaginal or rectal work (if needed), support, education, and if wanted newborn baby treatment.
Here is a brief overview of some of the things I could do during a home visit:
• Pelvic Steaming for postpartum
• Ayurvedic abhyanga
• Baby cranial sacral treatment
• Support for physical and emotional recovery from birth
• Belly Binding, vagina or rectal treatment, tuning fork sound massage
• Emotional adjustment to your new role
• Bonding and breastfeeding support
• Understanding of, and adjustment to, the unique personality of your baby
• Building confidence in your unique parenting style and skills
• Meditation and relaxation
• Yoga (restorative or yin)
• C-section scar tissue massage
• parent cranial sacral treatment
• Ayurvedic oil massage
• Pranic Energy Healing
